If you want to get rid of arm flab and get toned and tight arms without bulking up, these arm workouts for women are what you need. Well if you’re a woman…but even if you’re a man you can do these. And AT HOME! You only need 10 minutes (or 4), a mat & some hand weights.
Now if there’s one thing that I never cared about exercising, EVER, it was my arms. I was obsessed with abs (and where did that get me? nowhere), legs, butt, even my chubby face.
But arms?
I carry my grocery bags & my books, that’s enough.
Add to this that I was afraid I’d look like a man if I lift 2 lbs dumbbells. Each side.
Arms were a forgotten part in my exercise plan.
Now things have changed.
I’m not in my 20-ies anymore and don’t just burn calories and build muscle simply because I’m breathing.
A year ago I came to realize I have flabby arms. And not only that. Last year I even realized I had cellulite on my arms when I was trying on a top in a store. Yes, cellulite (let’s get the pity party started right now).
Man, I hate that dressing room lighting with all my heart and I hope it just dies. Thomas Edison, someone is abusing your invention and I don’t like it.
Goals for these arm workouts
So the one thing I’m obsessed with now is toning and tightening my arms.
My goal is to be able to wear a cute top and wave at the same time without bursting into embarrassed tears.
But also to be able to carry heavy things without being sore the next day.
The other goal, that’s actually most important to me is to improve my posture. With most arm workouts you also train your upper body and strengthen your neck and shoulder muscles. Which, if you’re sitting all day long, are probably very weak and might be causing you some pain. Well, mine are and therefore I have bad posture and neck and shoulder pain. So even if that’s your complaint – arm workouts will help.
You know where this is going, right?
Yes! I found and tried some videos on Youtube to help tighten and tone the arms.
You don’t need a gym membership or to lift a million and ten pounds.
In some of the workouts you don’t even need any equipment.
It’s important to have a variety of workouts, so you can switch things up and not get bored. But also when you do a different workout every time, you train different muscles, so give these a try.
All you need is:
(love)
some space
four to ten minutes
an exercise mat
hand weights (only for 2 of these workouts)
Tighten and Tone Your Arms:
Workouts For Women
4-Minute Arm Dance Workout by Popsugar Fitness. I tried this no equipment arm toning workout two days ago & loved it! It was short, sweet, fun and I didn’t need anything besides my arms and the rest of my body. It burned the shoulders and the arms. Stretch after so you’re not sore like I was the next day.
8-Minute Barre Arms Workout by Barre Fitness. Lately I really love barre/ballet workouts. For me they’re like Pilates, but standing. And this channel is probably my favorite. Their workouts are 10 minutes long on average, but very effective and great if you want to do something other than yoga in the morning. For a complete arm workout that also tones other parts of your body, I highly recommend this routine – you only need some hand weights.
4-Minute Power Yoga Workout For Toned Arms by SarahBethYoga. Tough, but really good! I was having some difficulties with the modified push-ups in the beginning, because of my wrists (they also hurt), but this is an AWESOME workout. Apparently this is the kind of yoga you can actually lose weight with. Here you only need a good exercise mat.
5-Minute Sexy, Sculpted Arm Workout by Popsugar Fitness. This has been one of my go-to, quick arm workouts for a long time. It tones arms, neck & shoulder muscles, I love it. I used 3-pounds here and it was enough to make me cry a little.
10-Minute Long & Lean Ballet Arms Workout by BeFiT. Last but definitely not least is this super intense ballet workout for long and lean arms. True, when the trainer does these moves they look like ballet, with me they look like I’m just really helpless. It doesn’t seem like much, but folks, these HURT. Seriously. This workout just proves you really need only your arms to tone them.
