I’m Stella – the creator of this blog.
And I believe we all need a little break from making ourselves crazy trying to maintain a healthy life or to lose weight. Living a healthy life is not complicated and it’s definitely not impossible. In fact it’s super simple when you just stick to the basics:
Spend time around people you love
Listen to some music
Get some sleep.
Basically the habits proven to improve your immune system. Staying healthy is very very easy and does not require you to suffer. It actually requires you to be happy.
Funny how this is so hard to remember in today’s world. We just forget to care about the basics.
Therefore I created Beauty Bites.
It’s a place to remind you that no matter how crazy life gets, no matter how many to-do’s you need to finish today, there are always some little things you can do today (that same exact crazy day) to make yourself feel better.
The motto is: Feel good, not guilty.
Beauty Bites is a place to find:
- Easy healthy recipes that don’t require much time, effort, money or pans.
I know for a fact that healthy food is made quickly. Any recipe that requires much time is overprocessed. If you just keep this in mind and eat simple whole foods every time when you’re making something, then living healthier will become much easier for you. I mean throwing this breakfast together takes 2 minutes – a lot less time than making pancakes.
- Great tips to improve your health with easy practical steps
I love easy practical steps. It’s funny how in today’s world people just motivate you to do stuff, but don’t actually tell you how to do them or when to start. My advice? Start right now. This second.
If you apply the tips I share here you can lose weight, get better skin, improve your whole life and feel great. And all it takes is some action on your side. You need to start now. And then repeat what you did today, tomorrow. Pick one of the tips here and decide to try it for 3-4 weeks – it will have a huge positive impact on your life.
Originally I started Beauty Bites as a food blog, where I shared tasty healthy recipes I made at home. Then I turned 31 and for no obvious reason I was gaining weight like there’s no tomorrow. 10kg (20pounds) in less than a year. Which to me is a lot.
After I celebrated a few self-pity parties on my own at home, I realized that this is stupid and I needed to stop being negative and instead just make some changes. I have a family history of cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases, so it was time for me to take this seriously.
You’ll notice a lot of times I mention some research articles. I love science and if you’re wondering about my education – I’m a biochemist, so to me it’s important to have at least some proof behind what I’m saying. That’s why even if I write an article about weight loss, or vegetables, I don’t just come up with the reasoning in my mind – I do a TON of research.
As always – turns out researching is not the tough part. The tough part is actually doing what I know I need to do. Like seriously, how hard is it to give up coffee? Turns out – very. But I’m working on it.
Other than complaining I also like to exercise (it has to be something fun and fast-moving), to watch movies that are funny, to travel, to explore, to eat and to hang out with people who don’t take themselves too seriously.
